  • Woolmen's Admissions Register:

There are two surviving books recording Admissions to the Worshipful Company of Woolmen. The first covers admissions to the Worshipful Company over the period 1666-1948 (283 years) in manuscript form; and the second contains a list of Admissions from 1774 to 1900 in the first six pages of lined paper, followed by admissions from 1903 onwards, with one pre-printed page per person, showing the Declaration in full. Each of these documents is contained on a separate tab of this file. There are also tabs for the rolls of Masters, Clerks, Beadles and Chaplains, as far as they have been ascertained.

You will need Microsoft Excel to view the Admissions Register.

  • THE COMPANY ADMISSIONS BOOKS – 1667-2010:

Past Master Ben Hodges, our archivist, and his wife Peggy spent many wintry days transcribing and interpreting the Company Admissions book covering the years 1667-1948. Whilst Court Assistant Bill Clark was working on collating the information and producing a commentary on its contents, they felt it would be incomplete without bringing it up to date. This was achieved with the valuable assistance of the Clerk, and the Company has now published a commentary on the two books and an analysis of the entries. Please refer to this Word Document for further details.

  • The Woolmen's Tale:

The 'Woolmen's Tale': a short history of the Worshipful Company of Woolmen is available for purchase from the Clerk of the company.
