Yesterday I took our clerk, Gill, to the carvery lunch at Butchers Hall where we were very well fed.
We heard all about their plans to put everything into mothballs and move out of their hall so that the builders developing the area around can use their hall as their headquarters.
Afterwards we dropped in to see the Cheapside Hoard at the Museum of London before heading off for St Paul’s Cathedral. We attended the service to commemorate the 650th Anniversary of the granting of a Royal Charter to the company by Edward III. it was a lovely service, with lessons read by the Master and their bursary student at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and the sermon by their Chaplain.
The service was followed by a reception in Saddlers’ Hall where the Master addressed us all.
