On Tuesday 3rd December I drove up to London with my car full of evening tails, dinner jacket and Janet’s frocks for a few days of Woolman activities.
I arrived in reasonable time at the Army and Navy club to get ready for a white tie dinner with the Weavers at Vintners’ Hall. Their guest speaker was the Chairman of the Almshouses Association, who kept us well entertained with a very amusing speech. the food was good, the wines were excellent and the company was most convivial. I stayed overnight at the Army and Navy.
