Woolmen showcase British Wool at The Great Yorkshire Show

The hugely popular Great Yorkshire Fashion Show will be back again this year, but this time with a twist. It will be in a new location on the Sheep Shearing Stage, next to more than 2,000 sheep which will be shown in the competitive classes. Shows will take place daily at 12.30pm – to book tickets see greatyorkshireshow.co.uk/ticket-information/

There was an open call for models with a link to farming and the countryside. Sarah Turner, Woolman and previous Innovation in Wool Award Winner, was selected from more than 70 applicants to be one of these models! Behind the scenes, Louisa Knapp a Woolman Bursary Award Winner in 2019, is coordinating the outfits from British Wool.

Entitled “From Sheep to Chic”, this year’s show will focus on the use of British wool and highlight the all-important link between the sheep we see in the fields and the creation of stylish wool garments – everything from quirky tweed jackets and waistcoats to fun bobble beanie hats.
